DIY HVAC Damper

The following are instructions for a DIY automatic HVAC damper! This was a neat little project that solves a very niche issue. That being if you need to open and close a HVAC vent damper automatically based on temperature.

3D print files for this and all my projects can be found on Printables! Use this link to get the files for this project, and be sure to check out the rest of the great files on Printables.com.

Assembly:
Insert Arduino (Please break off the two pins closest to the hole for ports. The Arduino does not fit in without doing so.)
Attach wiring
Clip on perf board
Attach LCD and switch (LCD may require a small amount of CS glue)
Attach LCD to box (Be sure to run the wire to the servo out the side of the box and make it long enough to get to the damper. You may want to add connectors for this part so that it can be moved.)
Mount box (Wood screws work fine, holes can be drilled to adjust)
Adapter assembly:
Screw “lock” onto servo over top a servo saver
Force fit “key” into lock
Attach “key” to damper control
Mounting the servo:
This can be done as the user sees fit, directly over the damper control.
Disclaimer:
This was mostly just a fun project that I figured could help some people out who were looking for a DIY solution to adjusting HVAC dampers based on temperature. I may or may not update this in the future to make it better. By using this project and files, you agree to not hold me liable for any damages sustained to yourself or any property. I have only tested this a bit (It has been ok so far), so if something goes wrong, please let me know so I can warn people/update the project, but know I hold no responsibility for this project causing problems.
